American Bando Association Mission

The American Bando Association is a Private Non-profit WWII Veterans Memorial Martial Arts Organization. Its Mission is:

  1. To Honor and pay tribute to both the Allied and Axis troops who fought and died in the China-Burma-India Theatre of WWII [In 1980, the Board of Directors of the ABA added veterans of the Korean War and Vietnam War to the list.] (Note: Subsequently, the Board also added veterans of the American armed forces who have served, fought and died in other conflicts involving U.S. armed forces, such as Bosnia, Somalia, the first Gulf War, Afghanistan and the current Gulf War.)

  2. To honor and pay tribute to the 10th Burma Gurkha Rifles [1746-1945] [Later, at all the initiation ceremonies of the ABA, the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Special Forces are added to the list.]

  3. To preserve the combative arts practiced in the China-Burma-India Theater of WWII [The ABA later added martial arts forms consisting of Empty-hand, Stick-Hand and Sword-hand to the list.]

The ABA does not support any kind of war. It does not glorify war. It does not condone acts or cruelty, brutality or savagery of any war. However, in recognition of their extraordinary courage and sacrifices, the ABA pays special tribute to both the Allied and Axis troops who fought and died in the China-Burma-India Theater of WWII.
